Experts Unite in Jeddah: Sponsoring the Stormwater and Wastewater Conference in Jeddah

Tuesday 21st May 2024

Polypipe Middle East sponsored the Stormwater and Wastewater Conference held in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia from May 28th to 29th.

On an annual basis, the MENA region generated an estimated 21.5 cubic kilometers (km³) of municipal wastewater. This included a range of sources such as domestic, commercial, and industrial wastewater, as well as stormwater and other urban runoff.

The purpose of the conference was to highlight the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s commitment to addressing water challenges through innovative stormwater and wastewater management solutions, emphasizing the critical role these projects played in ensuring water sustainability and resilience amidst urbanization and water scarcity.

With a market-leading range of high-quality water management systems and solutions for the urban water cycle environment, Polypipe Middle East stood at the forefront of innovation in the field.

Polypipe Middle East's signature solution, Polystorm, replicated the natural water cycle by capturing, storing, treating, and reusing water. Unlike conventional systems that treated water as waste, Sustainable Urban Drainage Systems like Polystorm emphasized reuse. Instead of channeling water directly into sewage systems, which could overflow during extreme weather, SuDS used source control to harvest water near its origin. The collected runoff was filtered in underground networks, making it suitable for irrigation and other sustainable uses.
