We are excited to announce that our Director for Civils, Green Urbanisation and Network Solutions, Lina Abolail, participated in the EICN MENA Annual Conference on 20th February in Dubai. Lina was part of a panel discussion at the event titled "Preparing for Climate Change and Extreme Weather Events," sponsored by Watania Takaful.

The panel of business leaders discussed risk mitigation and business continuity in the face of climate change and more frequent extreme weather events.

The event also featured an impressive line-up of speakers, including:

  1. Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, who shared insights and actions taken by his organization following the floods of April 2024.

  2. Dr. Diana Francis, Assistant Professor of Earth Science at Khalifa University, who presented her team's research on the floods and the potential shift in the UAE's climate from subtropical to tropical.

The event, organized by EICN MENA, was both engaging and informative and provided a valuable platform for industry leaders to exchange knowledge and strategies on addressing the challenges posed by extreme weather events. Lina Abolail's participation underscored our commitment to proactive risk management and sustainable stormwater management solutions in urban environment. The insights shared by esteemed speakers like Paul Griffiths and Dr. Diana Francis highlighted the importance of collaborative efforts in enhancing resilience and preparedness. We look forward to continuing our work in this critical area and contributing to a more resilient future.
