Polystorm - Geocellular Water Management System
Polystorm is an efficient and versatile geocellular water management system for Sustainable urban Drainage Systems (SuDS) compliant attenuation, det
Our Regional Director for Water Management Solutions, Lina Abolail, was delighted to present on water management and green urbanisation in collaboration with Heriot-Watt University as part of their ‘Engineer for a Day’ initiative.
The one-day event offered aspiring engineers an opportunity to explore various engineering disciplines and provided guidance on reaching their career goals.
Polypipe Middle East hosted an experiential workshop where students could trial the position of Flood Control Engineer for one day. This unique opportunity offered valuable insights into the importance of implementing both sustainable and protective systems, including essential fundamentals such as effective water management and drainage.
The first task introduced the students to the basics of determining which regions are most susceptible to flooding, with a particular emphasis on urban environments that possess limited drainage infrastructure. As part of the second task, the students put their newfound knowledge to the test through practical application using the same advanced simulations engineers utilise within the field.
Overall, the workshop was highly successful and it was a pleasure to facilitate in equipping future engineers!
And we're thankful to have been invited and being part of this project.
